HOT TUB CHEMICALS QUICK START GUIDE
Get started with hot tub chemicals in just three easy steps.
1. Shock Dose - Add Commissioning or Normal Shock Dose of Chlorine
After filling with water and before using your hot tub for the first time, shock dosing your Lay‑Z‑Spa is necessary to eliminate any bacteria or harmful organisms. It will also help to extend the time until you have to replace the water (assuming you keep up with regular chemical maintenance). Add 1 tablet in to the filter to dissolve quicker or use chlorine granules 2x spoons
2. Test Water After 24 Hours
After a commissioning shock dose, you need to wait around 24 hours.
Test the water using the test strips to make sure Free Chlorine, pH and Total Alkalinity levels are balanced before using the hot tub.
This may require you to adjust your Ph , chlorine level and alkalinity level. Dosage amounts will vary.
3. Start Your Regular Hot Tub Chemical Regime
In order to maintain clear, clean and healthy hot tub water there are some Daily, Weekly and Monthly Chemical Tasks that you will need to undertake.
The simplest way to do this is to always test the water before using your hot tub and make any adjustments to chemical levels as is necessary. Chlorine tablets weekly dosage:
Hot Tub for 4 person 800 litres of water: 2 tablets for 7 days.
Hot Tub for 6 person 1000 litres of water: 3 tablets for 7 days.
Swimming pool 7500 litres of water: 7 tablets for 7/ 10 days.
Swimming pool 4500 litres of water: 4 tablets for 7/ 10 days.
